The Boukzam Foundation · est. 2026

Real pit barbecue for dogs who have nobody.

Jeremy Garber's charity, in memory of the co-founder. The foundation cooks dog-safe post-oak smoked meat for shelters, rescues and street dogs across eight states, funds adoption fees, and shows up with a smoker when a shelter is out of food.

Programs

What the foundation does.

Three programs, all of them run from the back of a GarBBQ smoker trailer with a water bowl bolted to the hitch.

Program one

Shelter cooks

A pit crew rolls a smoker to a shelter and cooks for every dog in the building: boneless pork shoulder and turkey, unseasoned, no sauce, no onion, no salt, smoked low over post oak. Vet-reviewed, dog-safe, and apparently delicious. One shelter a week, eight states.

Program two

Boukzam's Fee

The foundation pays the adoption fee for any dog that has been in a partner shelter longer than six months, the way Boukzam had been. Over four hundred so far. Each adopter gets a GarBBQ water bowl with the dog's name on it.

Program three

The Empty Bowl Line

When a shelter or rescue runs out of food, they call. A GarBBQ within driving distance delivers within 24 hours, cooked or kibble, no paperwork first. Every GarBBQ manager has the authority to say yes.

Why barbecue

Because it's what Jeremy has. "I'm not a vet. I'm not rich in the way people think. What I have is ten smokers, a hundred people who know how to run them, and a dog who sat by every one. So that's what the foundation is."

A veterinary advisory board reviews every recipe. The meat is boneless, unseasoned, unsauced and smoked at low temperature. It is, by the foundation's own admission, better than what most people feed themselves.

Funding

The foundation's first year was funded in full by the BBQCoin launch. It is sustained by 100% of Boukzam Reserve cigar sales, the tip jar by the water bowl at every GarBBQ, every speaking fee Jeremy earns from youth and education events, and donors.

Starving pooches, fed

Jeremy's phrase, not ours. He said it on a podcast and the host made it the episode title and now it is on the trailer.

"Scott never came to the garage. Boukzam never left it. The foundation is my way of making sure the second kind of loyalty gets fed."Jeremy Garber

Donations and volunteer sign-ups are handled by the foundation team. Use the contact form and choose "Boukzam Foundation." A real person replies, usually from a smoker.

Boukzam would have loved this one. First foundation cook done. 212 dogs fed.

Host a shelter cook.

Shelters, rescues and GarBBQ franchise partners can request a cook. Donors and volunteers, same form.
